HISTORY OF WORD OF LIFE COVENANT CHURCH
1308 Phenix Avenue Cranston, RI | 401.944.1163
Word of Life Covenant Church was once named Community Chapel World Outreach and was established on October 23, 1979 by Sister Esther Mallett of Norwalk, California. This Godly and prophetic woman of God brought vision and a heart for souls.
A purchase of the Hillside Dairy Farm was acquired on October 23, 1981 for the site of our new church. Over the years, Noah’s Ark Day Care and a small Bible college was formed. A total of 6 church plants were birthed over the next 30 years to include the surrounding areas of Coventry, Smithfield, Cumberland, Providence, and Warwick, Rhode Island.
Presently, Pastors Mark and Bernadette Kimball are leading the flock and have served this church body since 2001 and pastorally since 2003.
Their vision in part is to establish strong healthy families in both body and spirit. They remain committed to establishing and training leaders to discover and fulfill their purpose and destiny. Equipping the saints for the advancement of God’s kingdom is evident in the teaching and direction of the church.
Most recently the Lord has increased our Pastors’ vision to prepare the church for the final outpouring of the Holy Spirit spoken of in Joel 2. Equipping members to identify and use their spiritual gifts with great skill and maturity.
The Apostle Paul speaks of the call of WOLCC in Ephesians.
“It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” – Ephesians 4:11-13
